| The NATP works in
conjunction with select sports medicine programs nationwide combining functional testing
and evaluation with the expertise of the sports medical personnel. This approach is
identical to that of top collegiate and professional programs that assist in enhancing
athletic performance through identification of individual and group strengths and
weaknesses. The objective of the NATP is to enhance functional
performance through the knowledge of individual strengths and weaknesses and assist in the
prevention of injuries.
Each
affiliate sports medicine program is certified by the NATP and is provided with
state-of-the-art equipment, including electronic timing systems, to implement testing in
your regional area. The NATP turns your gym into one of the nation's finest
evaluation facilities focused on providing safe, valid and reliable testing results.
The NATP is efficient, too. Your local NATP sponsor will be able to evaluate
up to 100 athletes per hour, allowing coaches to test even in season.
The
NATP is based on the nation's premier collegiate and professional testing and evaluation
protocols. In addition to the four major components, most sports medicine affiliates add
flexibility, body composition, a 40 yard dash or other functional component tests.
The NATP is not a fitness or a wellness test. The NATP evaluates explosiveness and
power which have the highest correlation to athletic performance.
After
your testing is complete, all testing forms are overnighted to the national data
processing center. The data is electronically scanned, verified for accuracy and a
series of reports are generated. Click on the link to the coaches section to learn
more about the NATP reports which are designed to provide valuable insight into present
and trended performance levels.
